LC Grevenbroich startet 3. Augenarztstipendium

Letter of Appreciation

To LC Grevenbroich
Dear members of LC Grevenbroich,

I hope this letter finds you all well. I am Sylvia Siwinda, an ophthalmology Resident Doctor you sponsor through Christian Blind Mission. I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for your generous support.
I am registered and studying under Kamuzu University of Health Sciences at the Lions Sight First Eye Hospital - Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Malawi. Currently, I have presently covered seven months of residency. I registered with the University without the hurdles of worrying about tuition fees and other financial needs courtesy of your support, thank you!
With the economic instability in my country and the world over, your monetary support through stipends has helped me immensely, allowing me to fully give my efforts towards my studies. For this, I am grateful.
So far, my first year has been great. I started in March with just a basic understanding of ophthalmology, but through the months I have experienced exponential growth in my clinical skill set. I can now confidently take patient history, examine, and come up with working diagnoses and differentials for patients.
I can perform several surgeries, from reconstructive eye surgeries to eye removal. Recently I had the opportunity to attend a one-on-one four-week cataract surgery training, and it was a great experience. I am looking forward to becoming a great cataract surgeon even during the course of my training years and years after.
Thank you once again for your generosity. Not only are you supporting an individual, but a community at large by supporting eye health care education.
Sincerely,
Sylvia Siwinda
